What qualifications do I need to be an Environmental Officer?

The requirement for formal qualifications is at the discretion of your organisation.

Given the consequences of not meeting the requirements of the legislation; it would be strongly advisable that any Environmental Officer holds appropriate qualifications to support their ability to understand and implement an environmental management system (EMS).

When determining the competency level of employees an organisation may take into consideration a combination of formal achievements, training or previous experience
